Use AI Chat with an individual plan
Every plan includes AI Chat, the Free plan too. What changes from plan to plan is how much you can use it each month and a few extras such as web searches per day, upload sizes and memory across chats.

Monthly tokens are also spread over a rolling 5-hour window and a weekly window, so heavy use in one sitting can pause chat for a while even with tokens left for the month. See How usage limits work.
Going past your allowance
On paid plans, an owner can turn on usage credits so chat keeps working after the plan allowance is used. The Free plan has no overage; chat waits until the limit resets. See Plan allowance vs usage credits.
Models by plan
Some models in the chat model menu need a higher plan. A locked model shows a lock icon, and choosing it tells you which plan it needs. See AI Chat model configuration.
