Two-step verification problems
If your account has two-step verification turned on, Syntic asks for a second check after you sign in. You can use an authenticator app, a recovery code, or a code sent to your email. If one method is not working, choose another from the Select a method to verify your identity screen.
The methods
| Method | What you enter |
|---|---|
| Google Authenticator or similar | The 6-digit code your authenticator app shows for Syntic. |
| Recovery code | One of the recovery codes you saved when you set up two-step verification. Each code works once. |
| The 6-digit code we send to your account’s email address. |
Messages and fixes
| Message | What to do |
|---|---|
| ”Enter the 6-digit code.” | The code must be exactly six digits, with no spaces. |
| ”Invalid code — try the next one your app shows.” | Wait for your app to show a new code and enter it. If codes keep failing, check that your phone’s clock is set automatically; authenticator codes depend on the correct time. |
| ”Invalid or already-used recovery code.” | Recovery codes work once. Use a different one from your saved list. |
| ”Invalid or expired code.” (email) | Choose Resend and use the newest email code. |
| ”Couldn’t send code. Try again in a minute.” | Wait a minute, then try again. |
| ”Verified, but we couldn’t refresh your session. Please sign in again.” | Your code was accepted, but the sign-in did not finish. Sign in again from the start. |
Lost your phone?
- On the method screen, choose Recovery code and enter one of your saved codes, or choose Email to get a code at your account address.
- Once you are in, open Settings › Security and set up two-step verification again with your new phone. Save the new recovery codes somewhere safe.
⚠️
If you have no access to your authenticator, no recovery codes and no access to your email, we need to confirm your identity before we can help. Contact support from the email address on your account. Never send us your codes.
Want to stop?
Choose Cancel and sign out on the verification screen to leave without signing in.
