AI Chat security and privacy

You control whether your chats help improve Syntic models, whether Syntic remembers things across chats, and how long organization chats are kept. This page lists those controls and where they live.

Model training

Settings → Data Controls → Help improve Syntic decides whether your chats and sessions may be used to train Syntic models. It is on unless you switch it off. See Model training and your chats.

Memory across chats

On plans that include memory, Syntic can remember facts about you between conversations. Review or remove them in Settings → Memory. An organization admin can turn memory off for everyone with Disable AI Memory in Settings → Admin Settings.

Incognito chats

Press ⇧⌘I (Shift+Ctrl+I on Windows) to start an incognito chat. Use it for one-off questions you don’t want in your chat history.

Retention and deletion

  • Organization admins can set conversations to be deleted after a number of days. See Data retention.
  • Files you delete from the Library go to the bin first, where you can restore them. The bin shows how many of its 30 days are left before a file is due to be removed.
  • You can download a copy of your data at any time. See Export your data.

Sharing a chat

A shared chat can be opened by anyone who has the link. Only share chats that contain nothing private, and send links only to people who should see them.

Your account

Protect chat access with two-step verification. See Set up two-step verification.
