Switch organizations and projects
The breadcrumb at the top left of every Console page has two drop-downs: the first chooses the organization, the second chooses a project inside it. What you pick here decides which keys, usage and balance the other pages show.
Choose an organization
Open the organization menu
Click the first name in the breadcrumb, next to the home icon. It reads Personal or the name of an organization.
Pick one
Under Account you can choose Personal. Under Organizations you see every organization you belong to. A check mark shows the current choice.
The Console remembers your choice in this browser, so it is still selected the next time you visit.
Personal versus an organization
Many pages need a real organization to show data. On Personal, the Usage Limits page asks you to “Select an organization from the switcher to see its plan, token allowance, and live usage”, and pages such as Recharge and Export Records reply “Select an organization first.” when you try to act. The API Keys page is the exception: on Personal it uses your own primary organization.
Choose a project
Projects are optional labels inside an organization. The second drop-down lists the projects of the selected organization.
- Pick a project to select it; the Console opens the Projects page.
- Choose Create Project to add one.
- Choose Organization Overview to clear the project and go back to the organization’s General page.
If the organization has no projects, the menu says No projects. More on this in The Projects page.
Which organization pays for API calls?
Each API key is tied to the organization that was selected when the key was created. Calls made with that key use that organization’s plan allowance and credit balance, whatever you select in the Console later. To bill another organization, switch to it and create a new key there.
