Member and group spend limits

Owners and administrators can cap how much usage credit each member may spend per month. Limits can be set on one person or on a group, and they only ever restrict credit spend: usage covered by the plan allowance is never blocked by them. The controls are in Settings → Billing, below Usage credits.

Spend limits for members

The Spend limits table lists each member with Spent this month, their own Limit, and their Effective limit, which is the limit that actually applies after group limits are taken into account. A limit inherited from a group is marked Inherited from a group limit.

To change a member’s limit, open the menu in their row:

  • Edit limit: enter an amount in Monthly spend limit and save. It takes effect immediately.
  • Set to unlimited: removes their own limit. They then inherit a group limit, or spend without a cap.

Group spend limits

Under Group spend limits, give a group its own limit the same way. A group limit applies to each member of the group who has no limit of their own. It caps every person separately, not the group’s combined spend.

When a member reaches their limit

Their requests that need credit are refused until the 1st of next month (UTC) or until an admin raises the limit, even if the organization’s own credit limit still has room. In chat they see Your monthly member spend limit has been reached. It resets next month, or ask an org admin to raise it. Requests their plan can still cover keep working.

Members who aren’t administrators can see the tables but can’t change them. Trying to shows You need admin access to change spend limits.
