Troubleshoot Skills
Most skill problems come from the Workforce preview not being open, a role that can’t make the change, or too many skills on one staff member. Find your symptom below.
I can’t find Skills or the marketplace
Staff skills, agent skills and the marketplace are in the Workforce area, which is in a limited preview. If there is no Workforce switch at the top of the sidebar, your account isn’t in the preview yet. Art Factory skills are available to everyone. See What you can do with Syntic today.
”You don’t have any AI Staff yet”
The assign dialog lists only staff (on Skills) or only agents (on Agent Skills) in your current organization. Hire a staff member or create an agent first, or switch to the organization they belong to.
”No organization selected” or “Select an organization first”
Pick an organization with the workspace switcher, then try again. See Switch workspaces.
The install button says “Install (admin only)”
Only owners and administrators can install or uninstall marketplace skills. Ask one of them, or see Skills in Team and Enterprise organizations.
”… is a paid skill”
Paid marketplace listings can’t be installed yet because billing for them isn’t connected. Contact support@syntic.ai if you need one.
”Submit (owner only)”
Only organization owners can submit a listing to the marketplace.
A staff member ignores a skill
- Open the staff member’s edit page and check the Skills card lists it.
- If many skills are attached, remove some. Combined skill text is capped at about 24,000 characters and anything past that is cut off. See Skills usage analytics and limits.
”Save as Skill” is greyed out
The sparkle button next to New chat stays dimmed until the current canvas chat has at least two messages. Send a prompt and wait for the reply, then try again.
”Couldn’t load your submissions”
Nothing was withdrawn; the list failed to load. Use the refresh button on Your submissions.
