Models and how to choose one
The API serves four models in two families: Amara for general work and Syntic Code for software tasks. You pick one by putting its exact name in the model field. If you leave the field out, the default model answers; GET https://app.syntic.ai/v1/models marks it with "default": true.

The API needs a paid plan, and every paid plan currently includes all four. Each model’s context window (your input and the reply together) is returned as context_window by GET /v1/models. Per-token prices for credit-paid usage are on the pricing page.
Older names such as Amara S1.2 and Amara Quick are retired and are no longer served.

The most reliable way to decide: collect 20 to 50 real examples of what your feature will see, run them through two candidate models, and compare quality, speed and cost.
Names must be exact
Model names have spaces and capital letters. Send them exactly as GET /v1/models returns them. amara-s2 or Amara s2 are not recognised.

Zero data retention organizations
If your organization runs with zero data retention, models that need standard retention are refused before anything is billed. Pick another model from the list your key returns.
