The Projects page

Projects lists the projects in the selected organization and lets you add new ones. Projects are a way to group and name work inside an organization.

What the page shows

The heading is Project List. A note above the table reads that administrators can manage all projects in the organization, with a limit of 20 active projects.

The table has four columns: Project ID, Project Name, Description and Created At. Newest projects appear first. Tabs for Active and Archived sit above the table.

If no organization is selected, the table says “Select an organization to see projects”. If the organization has none yet, it says “No projects yet”.

Create a project

Select the organization

Pick it in the breadcrumb. Projects can’t be created under Personal; you will see “Select an organization first”.

Open the form

Choose Create Project in the page’s upper-right corner (or from the project drop-down in the breadcrumb).

Fill it in

Enter a Project Name (required) and, if you like, a Project Description.

Save

Choose OK. A “Project created” message appears and the project shows at the top of the list.

If you leave the name blank you will see “Name required”.

What projects do and don’t do today

  • Selecting a project in the breadcrumb only changes which project is highlighted. Keys, usage, balance and billing records in the Console are still shown for the whole organization.
  • The Console has no rename, archive or delete action for projects yet.

If you need to separate costs between products or teams today, create a separate API key for each one and give it a clear name. The Billing Details page breaks usage down by day and by model.
