Image & video credits
Image generation is paid from a separate balance of image & video credits. Your plan grants a number of credits each month, and you can buy credit packs that never expire. These credits are not the same as usage credits; they can’t be spent on chat or the API.

Plan credits reset every month. How many credits one image uses depends on the model and quality you choose, which is why plans list credits rather than a number of images.
Buy a credit pack
Open the plans page and click Image & video credits. Packs are shared with your whole organization:

Purchased credits never expire. Plan credits reset monthly.
Check your balance
Settings → Usage shows Image & video credits — This month with credits used out of your plan’s total and when they reset. If it says Balance unavailable right now — this is not a statement about your plan., the balance couldn’t be loaded; try again shortly.
Running out
When you don’t have enough credits for an action, an amber notice explains it and offers a way to add credits. It stays until you dismiss it.
Video generation is not available yet. The credits work for images today and will cover video when it opens.
