Manage seats
On seat-based plans, each member either holds a paid seat or doesn’t. Owners decide who has one from Settings → Members, using the seat menu next to each person’s role. Taking a seat away keeps the person in the organization; it doesn’t remove them.
The two seat states
| Seat menu shows | Meaning |
|---|---|
| Enterprise seat | The member holds a seat. This is the default for members |
| No seat assigned | The member stays in the organization but has no seat. A No seat badge appears next to their name |
Change someone’s seat
- Go to Settings → Members with the organization selected.
- In the person’s row, open the seat menu.
- Choose Enterprise seat or No seat assigned.
Syntic confirms with Seat assigned, or with Seat unassigned — membership kept, product access suspended.
Who can change seats
Only owners and the Primary Owner. Everyone else sees the seat menu locked; if they try, the message is You need owner access to manage seats. Seats can’t be changed for suspended or removed members.
When all seats are taken
The organization can’t have more seated members than it has paid seats. If you try to assign one too many, Syntic shows All paid seats are in use with the hint Add seats in Billing, or unassign a seat first. Unassign a seat from someone who no longer needs it, or contact sales@syntic.ai to add seats to your plan.
Team plans are bought per seat, with at least two seats. See Team plan.
