Uninstall Syntic Code

If you have Syntic Code on your computer, sign out and delete the syntic program. There is no uninstall command. Your Syntic account and plan are not affected.

Remove the program

  1. Sign out, so your saved sign-in is removed from this computer:

    syntic auth logout
  2. Find where the program is: which syntic on macOS and Linux, or where syntic on Windows.

  3. Delete that file. If you added its folder to your PATH, remove that entry too.

Remove your data (optional)

Deleting the program leaves your settings and saved conversations in place. For a clean slate, also delete the .syntic folder in your home folder (settings, sign-in, trusted folders) and the Syntic Code folder in your system’s application data folder (saved conversations).

⚠️

Deleting these folders removes your saved conversations, settings and permission rules for good. It cannot be undone. Leave any .syntic/ folder inside a shared repository alone if teammates use it.

Your account is separate

Removing Syntic Code does not cancel your plan or delete your Syntic account. To change or cancel your plan, see Plans.
