Set up two-step verification
Two-step verification adds a second check when you sign in: after your email code or Google sign-in, Syntic asks for a 6-digit code from an authenticator app on your phone. Turn it on in Settings → Security, under Two-step authentication.
What you need
An authenticator app on your phone or computer. Any app that supports standard time-based codes (TOTP) works, including most password managers.
Syntic does not offer text-message codes or passkeys as a second step.
Turn it on
Open Security settings
In the Syntic app, open Settings. In the Security group, choose Security. Find Two-step authentication.
Choose Configure
The Authenticator app row shows Not configured. Choose Configure.
Scan the QR code
The panel Set up authenticator app shows a QR code. Scan it with your app. If you can’t scan, choose Copy next to the secret key under “Or enter this secret key manually:” and paste it into the app.
Enter the code
Type the current 6-digit code from the app and choose Verify & Enable.
Save your recovery codes
Syntic immediately shows 10 recovery codes. Choose Download .txt or Copy all, store them somewhere safe and separate from your phone, then choose I’ve saved them. You won’t see these codes again.
The row now reads Active. From your next sign-in, Syntic asks for a code every time.
Without your phone and without your recovery codes, you can’t get past the code screen. Save the codes before you close the panel. See Recovery codes.
Signing in with two-step verification
After your normal sign-in, the Verify your identity screen asks for the One-time code from your app. Enter it and choose Continue. If your app shows a new code before you finish, use the new one; a stale code gives “Invalid code — try the next one your app shows.”
With two or more ways to verify set up, Syntic first asks you to pick one: your authenticator app, Recovery code or Email. Choose Try another method to switch, or Cancel and sign out to stop.
It covers the whole account
Two-step verification belongs to your Syntic account, so the same authenticator is asked for in the Syntic app and in the Syntic Console.
