Skills FAQ
Quick answers about skills in the Syntic app and in Syntic Code.
What is the difference between Skills and Agent Skills?
Skills lists skills meant for AI Staff, the colleagues you chat with. Agent Skills lists skills an automated AI Agent can carry out. Each catalog only offers to assign to its own kind: staff from Skills, agents from Agent Skills.
What is a collection?
A collection is a group of related skills, for example everything a sales role needs. On the Skills page, the Collections tab lists them. On a staff member’s edit page, Add skill offers Skill collections to attach a whole group at once.
How is the marketplace different from the catalogs?
The catalogs hold skills you can attach to a staff member or agent right away. The marketplace holds listings that wrap an agent plugin; an admin installs them for the whole organization. Only free listings can be installed today.
Can I write my own skill?
- Art Factory: yes. Use Save as Skill on a canvas chat; it appears under My Skills.
- Staff and agents: creating your own catalog skill isn’t available yet. Organization owners can submit a plugin-based listing to the marketplace for review.
- Syntic Code: yes, as a folder with a
SKILL.mdfile. See Skills & custom commands.
Do Syntic Code skills show up in the app?
No. Syntic Code skills live in files on your computer and in your projects. App skills live in your Syntic account. The two don’t sync.
How long does marketplace review take?
There is no fixed time. Listings are reviewed by hand. Your submissions on the publish page shows the current status; contact support@syntic.ai for an update.
Does a skill keep working after I change plans?
Yes. Skills stay attached when you upgrade or downgrade. See Use Skills with an individual plan.
