AI Chat usage analytics and limits
Chat is measured in tokens, the pieces of text you send and receive. Your plan sets a monthly token allowance, split across a rolling 5-hour window and a weekly window, plus daily allowances for web searches and file uploads.
Where to see your usage
Settings → Usage shows:
- your current position in the 5-hour, weekly and monthly windows, and when each resets;
- Your usage this month, by product and model, with requests, tokens and spend;
- Usage breakdown (this week) by product.
Use the refresh icon for the latest figures. If the page says it can’t load your usage, use Retry.
The limits that apply to chat

When you reach a limit
A banner above the message box names the limit and when it resets, and your conversation is kept. On paid plans, usage credits can carry you past the plan allowance once an owner turns them on. See Hitting a usage limit.
