Connectors usage analytics and limits

Connecting an app is free. Content you bring in from it is added to your message, so it uses tokens like any text you paste, and counts toward your plan’s usage windows.

Limits when adding files from GitHub

LimitWhat it means
Capacity meter of about 150,000 charactersThe Add content from GitHub dialog shows a % used meter for the files you tick. It turns red at 90%. Going past it doesn’t block you, but very large additions use a lot of tokens.
Search pause of 60 secondsIf GitHub limits how often you can search, the dialog shows GitHub search rate-limited — try again in 60s.
Default branch onlyFiles are read from the repository’s default branch. Any file that can’t be read is left out; if none can be read, you’ll see Couldn’t read any of the selected files.

Ticking a top-level folder selects every file inside it, which fills the meter quickly. Pick only the files you need.

How it counts toward your plan

  • Every file you add is sent with the message, so it counts as input tokens for that reply and for later replies in the same chat.
  • Those tokens draw on the 5-hour, weekly and monthly windows described in How usage limits work.
  • If you hit a limit, see Out of credits or over your limit.

Where to see usage

Settings → Usage shows your total token use. There is no separate report for connectors or for content added from GitHub.
