How Syntic handles your data
This page sums up the commitments Syntic shows in the app and in its Privacy Policy. The policy is the authoritative version; if anything here seems to differ, the policy wins.
The short version
The Data Controls page in Settings lists these points:
- You control your conversation data and can change your preferences at any time in Settings.
- You can ask Syntic to delete your data, except where conversations were flagged for safety reasons or you shared them through feedback. See Delete your account for what happens and when.
- Syntic doesn’t sell your data to third parties.
- With your permission, your chats and sessions are used to train and improve Syntic’s models. See Model training and your chats.
- Your email address is used for account checks, billing and messages about new features.
- Syntic may study usage in aggregated, anonymised form to understand how people use the product.
What Syntic collects
In broad terms, the Privacy Policy covers:
- Account and contact details, such as your name and email.
- Payment information for paid plans and credit purchases.
- What you send and what the models return, including chats, files and coding sessions.
- Technical information, such as device, browser, IP address and how you use the service.
- Feedback you choose to send.
Where it’s processed
Your data may be processed on servers in the United States and in other countries outside the EEA and UK. The Privacy Policy explains the safeguards used for those transfers.
A list of the third parties that help process personal data for Syntic’s commercial services is available on request from privacy@syntic.ai.
How long it’s kept
The Privacy Policy says data is kept for as long as reasonably needed for the purposes it describes. Specific periods you can see or control are on Data retention.
Age
Syntic is not intended for anyone under 18.
