Get started with Syntic Desktop
Syntic Desktop is Syntic’s app for your computer: chat with Syntic and run the Syntic Code agent on your projects in one window. It is in an early preview and has no public download yet. This page explains where it stands and what the first run looks like for preview testers.
Until Syntic Desktop is released, use Syntic in your browser. Only ever install Syntic Desktop from syntic.ai.
What is in the preview
| Part | What it does |
|---|---|
| Home | Chat with Syntic, with files attached to your messages. |
| Code | A workspace where the Syntic Code agent plans, edits and runs changes in your projects. Needs a paid plan. |
| Model menu | Pick a model and, where offered, a reasoning effort. |
| Voice mode | Talk instead of type. |
| Settings | Account, appearance, models, keyboard shortcuts and more. |
Details may change before release.

Your projects and files stay on your computer. If Code shows “Code needs a paid plan”, see Use Syntic Desktop with an individual plan.
How it fits with the rest of Syntic
Syntic Desktop uses the same Syntic account as the website and Syntic Code. Your plan, usage limits and billing are shared, so work in the app counts toward the same allowance.
